Khelo India
Winter Games 2026

The Khelo India Winter Games (The 6th edition of Khelo India Winter Games 2026 is scheduled to be held in the UT of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. The tentative dates for the conduct of the Games are 20 Jan 2026 – 26 Jan 2026 onwards and Jan/ February 2026 (Gulmarg, to be finalized based on availability of Snow).
The Games will be conducted in 6 competitive sports with the participation of 1000+ Athletes, 300+ Support Staff, 130+ Technical Officials, 6 Competition Managers etc.
G) are a national multi-sport event under India's Khelo India initiative, designed to promote beach sports, featuring athletes competing in events like Beach Soccer, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Sepak Takraw, Pencak Silat, and Open Water Swimming, alongside demonstration sports like Mallakhamb and Tug-of-War

Individual Sports
The registration and nomination of athletes is to be done by the respective stakeholder namely, NSF as per the allocated quota, on the basis of performance in the qualifying tournament/ ranking.
Individual Sports (Host State Quota)
The registration and nomination of athletes is to be done by the respective State/UT as per the allocated quota and criteria of Host State Quota

Team Sports
The registration and nomination of team sports is to be done by respective State/UT as per the allocated slot based on merit in each sport.

Age Category
The Games will be conducted in one age category ie: Open Age Category
Age cut-off (Minimum age to participate)
The minimum age criteria of the specific International Sports Federation (IF) and National Sports body will prevail.
Qualification Criteria - Team Sports - A total number of 8 teams will participate in KIWG 2026. The TOP 7 State Names will be nominated on the basis of performance in the recent National Championships/Khelo India Winter Games of the respective sport organized by NSF/Association/Ad-hoc Committee as the case may be. The 8th team will be of the Host State/UT.
Individual Sports - An athlete will qualify for participation in KIWG 2026 based on the criteria set by the NSF/Association/Ad-hoc Committee for participation in KIWG 2026 as applicable The qualification shall be subject to the athlete cut-off age criteria and number of quota places allocated to NSF/Association/Ad-hoc Committee in each event.

• Letterhead duly signed by competent authority issued by State / UT / NSF / Ad-hoc Committee/Service Board
• To verify age eligibility, any two of the following documents are required:
• Aadhaar Card or Passport
• Matriculate Certificate
• Birth Certificate (issued at least 5 years ago i.e., on or before 01 January 2020 by Municipal Corporation/ Gram Panchayat)

• Place of Posting or working ( of any services or organisation ) letter from employer
• NOC for representations different States/UT from the NSF/Association/Ad-hoc Committee/Service Board Committee as the case may be

• Result of the recent National Championship/ Rankings - Certificate/ Notification/ Letterhead duly signed by president/general secretary and issued by NSF/Association/Ad-hoc Committee/Service Board as the case may be.

Accreditation and Sports Kit will be issued post facial Verification of State Contingent (Athletes, Support Staff, CDMs and others)
